Tanggol Kalikasan, an affiliate of Alternative Law Groups (ALG) spearheads the conduct of Training Orientation for local area formation of civil society organizations in CALABARZON region  on August 30-31, 2016 held at Palaisdaan Hotel and Restaurant, Brgy. Dapdap, City of Tayabas. The event was participated by eleven CSO representatives from different provinces in CALABARZON and Marinduque.

"Training of DENR Personnel to be Designated as Wildlife Enforcement Officers (WEOs) - Region 5" held on August 15-17, 2016 in Legazpi City. The training was designed to educate and equip DENR personnel on RA9147 and Wildlife Enforcement Protocol as a prerequisite prior to designation as WEOs. 62 DENR personnel who are involved in the Enforcement Units region-wide attended and actively participated in the training.It was organized and facilitated by Enforcement Division under the supervision of the ARD for Technical Services. USAID’s PBC 3 and BWISER supported said training by providing technical assistance by serving as resource persons and counterpart funding.

Tanggol Kalikasan together with the Local Governments of Lucena City, Sariaya and Pagbilao, Quezon, DENR-PENRO and DA-BFAR PFO vowed to support the implementation of the 2 years project funded by Philippine-American Fund (PhilAm Fund) entitled "Reducing Threats and Improving Sustainable Management of Biodiversity in Tayabas and Pagbilao Bay". Mayors Roderick A. Alcala of Lucena City, Marcelo P. Gayeta of Sariaya, and Shierre Ann Portes-Palicpic of Pagbilao, Quezon looked forward on the signing of the agreement of the Municipal Water bounding municipalities of Pagbilao and Sariaya and the city of Lucena.

Biodiversity Friendly Enterprise,Nursery Establishment and Seedling Production trainings were conducted in Brgy.Sta.Ines,Tanay,Rizal Lumutan,General Nakar,Quezon and Puray,Rodriguez,Rizal held on August 27,28,29 respectively. These trainings are a joint activities of Tanggol Kalikasan funded by UNDP SGP5 project and Tanim Kalikasan under the Project Green Shield funded by PTFCF.

In the protection of our biodiversity, we need the help of the community on the ground. But we also need to provide them knowledge and skills to participate in the cause.

Hence, a re-echo of the Community-Based Monitoring and Evaluation System Training in Tayabas City participated by thirty-one (31) people from Barangay Palale was held last June 22-24,2016.

The newly trained trainors from the Local Government of Tayabas, Tapat Kalikasan, Tanim Kalikasan and Tanggol Kalikasan spearheaded said activity.

"Orientation on the Operationalization of Fishery Law Enforcement Management Information System" Visayas-Caraga Cluster Aug.2-4, 2016 in Cebu City. Estimated 150 Fishery Law Enforcement officers, Regional Directors, senior officials of enforcement division and legal officers participated the training. DOI ICC team provided technical assistance and served as RP on RA10654 and mobile checkpoint.
